The rooms where rules are written
For fifteen years, I was an international lawyer with the United Nations. An LL.M in International Law from the University of Cape Town, then a decade and a half across missions and mandates, the kind of rooms where the words you draft become rules that nations live by.
It was meaningful work. It also taught me the most expensive truth in any organisation, which is that brilliant people spend most of their day on work that does not need their brilliance. Scheduling, follow-ups, answering the same question for the hundredth time. I watched talent drown in repetition, in the UN and in every business I encountered afterward.
"I didn't see a chatbot. I saw a way to give people their time back."
The bet
I left the certainty of an international career and bet on myself. No computer science degree. No developer background. I sat down with the large language models themselves and made them my faculty. I learned how agentic systems are built: the orchestration, the integrations, the telephony, the logic.
Within two months, I was building working voice agents. Within a year, they were answering real phones for real businesses.
HerDelight Echoes
Today, HerDelight Echoes is an AI Agentic Studio in Entebbe, Uganda. We build digital employees: AI systems that see, hear, speak, and act. They answer calls at 2 a.m., book appointments, follow up leads, and connect directly into CRMs, calendars, and business workflows. They are not software your team has to learn. They work more like a colleague your team can lean on.
Our systems are live with clients across East Africa's service sectors, from health and real estate to hospitality and education, with more industries onboarding. Together they handle more than a hundred client interactions every day. We are self-funded, profitable in our convictions, and just getting started.
"Africa has been told to wait its turn on every technological wave. This time we are not waiting."
Agentic AI does not need a Silicon Valley zip code. It needs builders who understand the businesses, the languages, and the people it serves. That is exactly what we are.
I built the first digital employees myself. Now I'm building the studio that staffs a continent with them.
